Reliability of Embedded Critical Systems

Objectives


At the end of this module, the student will have understood and be able to explain (main concepts) :
 
- the basic concepts of dependability and of the methods and techniques used to attain and validate it
- the main concepts of symbolic and connectionist reasoning - the basic principles of fuzzy logic theory and neural networks and their applications in diagnostics
- concept of diagnosis - diagnosis and other monitoring functions - principles of the three main diagnostic methods - characteristics of the most conventional diagnostic methods
The student will be able to:
- Apply the generic knowledge to systems implemented with hardware andsoftware technology.
- Apply fuzzy logic and neural networks to the control of complex systems and/or data mining
- Present the different diagnostic approaches and select the right type of approach for a particular application.

Discrete event systems - linear continuous systems (modelling and control) - System design : software design and programming - fuzzy logic - neural networks

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
