Process control & optimization


At the end of this module, the student will have understood and be able to explain (main concepts):
- basic concepts of dynamic simulation
- optimisation methodologies (mono/multi-variables, mono/ multi-criteria, with/without constraints)
- advanced process control methods feed-forward, cascade, model predictive control
The student will be able to:
- develop a modelling tool for process simulation on Matlab software, develop and program an optimisation routine
- use a professional software for defining a flow-sheet combining processes and perform dynamic simulation
- simulate an advanced process control method

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
