Project for research introduction

Objectives


At the end of this module, the student will have understood and be able to explain (main concepts) :
- the method and tools for conducting a good literature and patent survey
- principles of the scientific method
- the health and safety rules in a research laboratory
- the basic methods of project management
- the organisation of public research in France
- principles of patent rights
The student will be able to:
- to identify and investigate a scientific research topic
- to draw up an up-to-date inventory of knowledge on this topic and to identify the international leading research teams
- to autonomously design and perform an experimental scientific approach to address a problem based upon the previous literature survey with respect to health and safety rules
- to communicate the results using a common scientific format (paper, poster)
- to set up a project management programme

Literature survey basic knowledge.
Project management.
Scientific knowledge in relation to the research project.

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
