Emerging networks

At the end of this module, the student will have understood and be able to explain (main concepts) :
- the operation of adaptive networks and the adaptive communication services
- services quality for adaptives networks ( routing layer, MAC layer, beamforming algorithms)
- the concepts of software radio and cognitive networks (reconfigurability and  adaptability in mobile networks)
- the operation and services of 3G+ and 4G mobile networks
- protocols and architecture in wireless sensor networks toward ambient intelligence and internet of things
The student will be able to :
- understand the services in the future mobile networks 3G+ and 4G
- understand the principles of adaptive networks
- understand the MAC layer quality of service and beamforming algorithms
- design, dimension and deploy a wireless sensor network upon the application.

Needed prerequisite

Mobile networks and wireless networks.
Routing and quality of services.

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
