Industrial Engineering – C.A.D
Presentation
Programme (detailed contents):
Common topics: air compressor and a scooter.
Introduction to mechanical design based on mechanisms found in industry. Different graphical representations are used:
- schematic,
- mechanical drawing for shapes and dimensions,
- 3-D representation with C.A.D. showing congestion, interference.
The BIM teaching is as follows:
- Getting started with a suite of CAD to BIM
- Representation of building from 2D to 3D
- Modeling on BIM software
- Visual programming logic to explore parametric conceptual designs and automate tasks.
- Computing on existing BIM models
- Data extraction for load carrying systems
Organisation:
Tutorial and lab-work
Main difficulties for students:
Preparatory work
Objectives
At the end of this module, the student will have understood and be able to explain (main concepts):
The basic concepts of conception (design)
The student will be able to:
- define a pivot link,
- define an assembly of parts,
- draw a diagram (model),
- graphical representation of a mechanism.
- produce 2D and 3D graphical representations
- modeling civil engineering projects elements
- examine a numerical model to extract production data
- understand the mechanical behavior of civil engineering projects.
Needed prerequisite
1st year introduction to industrial techniques.
Form of assessment
The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
