Mathematical theory with applications in mechanics

Objectives



At the end on this module, the student will have understood and be able to expain (main concepts) :
- notions of randomness, confidence interval, test of hypothesis
- the Fourier transform, its applications, its discrete implementation (FFT)
- dynamics of material systems
The student will be able to:
- identify the principal elements of random modelling (notions of randomness,
risk,...)
- develop an elementary statistical analysis for a real-life situation from industry

Needed prerequisite

Notions of basic analysis (numerical series, derivation, integration...)

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
