Programme (detailed contents):

 

Starting from a specification, we develop a design process for an electric motorbike

built around the following steps:

- Sizing a motor wheel

- Evaluation of battery autonomy

- Designing a appropriate suspension

Software used: Adams, Matlab, AMESim

Objectives

At the end of this module, the student will have understood and be able to explain (main concepts):

 

- The design of an electric-motor-reducer-battery set

- Simulation of multibody systems.

- The definition and adjustment of vehicle suspension.

The student will be able to:

- Select and analyze the performance of an electromechanical system.

- Design and dimension a vehicle suspension.

- Model multibody systems.

- Explain the main parameters involved in a vehicle suspension .

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
