Assimilation & Automatic

Objectives

VariationnalData Assimilation:
-      Position of the modelling problem model - data - errors
-      Optimal control of systems governed by PDEs
-      Adjoint method
-      Sensitivity analysis / calibration / identification / assimilation
-      Links variational data assimilation - BLUE - filtering
-      Automatic/Algorithmic differentiation

Automatic:Provide basic concepts of Automatic Control in a view of its application. Thesemain concepts are:
-      Stability
-      Performance
-      Robustness

The student will be able to:
D.A.:Elaborate the full process (equations, computational software) of sensitivityanalysis / calibration / assimilation of PDE models.

Auto.: Design and optimize a control with muti-criteria objectives, such as:
Response delay, speed to equilibrium state return, sensitivity versusenvironmental changes,?

Needed prerequisite

EDO/ PDE models, differential calculus, mathematical analysis, optimisation, programming

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
