Microcontrollers and UML

Objectives

Two topics are studied: control systems with microcontrollers and the
modelling of information systems and signals using UML.
Depending on the application, control systems can have different architectures. This unit
is entirely based on practical labs that deal with a microcontroller-controlled physical process.
The students different aspects of the system including the physical process, sensors
and actuators electronics, hardware peripherals, drivers and application software.
Students specify each system component, implement a design and develop
application- level software.
The second topic deals with the presentation of UML from a systems
engineering point of view. The goal is less to learn UML syntax than
to highlight the benefits of using UML in system engineering processes.

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
