Studentshave to know the main nondestructive testing methods with advantages/drawbacks andto apply them to practical industrial cases. They must be able to choose themost appropriate method to solve specific industrial issues.
Module 2 : Metallic alloys for high temperatureapplications ¿ Creep behaviour
1.25hCM + 6.25hTD
Analysis of the physicsmechanisms occurring during creep and of the parameters which affect creepresistance.
Applying basic theoreticalmodels to calculate rupture life expectancy.
To know the main metallicalloys withstanding creep at high temperatures.
Module 3 : English

Students must be able to organize theirspeech/writing logically, to use proper English in a concise and appropriatestyle while meeting genre conventions; to master technical terms; to resort toappropriate registers (specialized/non specialized audiences/readers) and toquote scientific sources according to international citation standards.

Needed prerequisite

Module1: Nondestructive testing (NDT)
1st,2nd and 3rd years¿courses or equivalent: knowledge of fundamental principles in physics ie electricity,optics, atomic structure and Materials Science.
Module 2 : Metallic alloys for high temperatureapplications ¿ Creep behaviour
Mechanics of Materials:defects in metallic materials and plastic deformation mechanism
Module 3 : English
Students must master general English and know how towrite and talk about general scientific elements in a rigorous way (1st,2nd, 3rd & 4th year English courses).

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
