Welcome to Exchange Students
The International Office (DRI) at the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Toulouse, France, is happy to welcome you and to help you to make the most of your stay here in France. A short guide has been written to answer any questions you might have, and hopefully it will help you prepare your arrival and your stay at INSA.

Important information to the attention of exchange students : Please Focus on a Single Department
Regular INSA students have to take all their technical courses in a single department. The list of courses offered to exchange students is on-line (click here).

DO Not Mix Departements and Levels of Studies
Some exchange students tend to take their courses in various departments and also at different levels of studies within the 5-year curriculum of INSA Toulouse. We understand that it may be the way they build their syllabus in their home university but it is not the rule at INSA Toulouse and it would lead to creating time-tables with time conflicts impossible to solve.
Therefore, exchange students are expected to take their courses in a single department and in a single year.
However it may happen that the courses required by the home university of the exchange student are given in two different departments or two different years at INSA.
In that particular case, the exchange student will be asked to choose only one major and one minor to build his/her program of courses.
Humanities
The CSH (Center for Humanities) offers the following courses:
- Language courses (General English, Professional and scientific English, German, Spanish, Chinese, French - see below)
- Economics and management courses
- Professional communication courses
Exchange students are allowed to choose any of the courses provided they comply with the listed language and content prerequisites
