Research

Over 400 researchers, faculty, PhD students and technical support staff work in the school’s 8 laboratories, contributing to its international prestige. Three themes federate their work.

From academic excellence to applied research

All the laboratories of INSA Toulouse were ranked A ouA+ by the Agence d’Evaluation de la Rechercheet de l’Enseignement Supérieur (AERES), a sign of recognition for the school and a plus for future engineers whose education is closely linked to the research of each department.

INSA Toulouse, in accordance with the policy of all the Toulouse establishments and in particular with the Excellence Initiative project, is engaged in the following federating themes:

  • aeronautics, space, embedded systems
  • environment, health, biotechnologies, energy
  • nanosciences and nanotechnologies
  • towns, urban networks, information networks
  • biomathematics, bioinformatics

Alongside these public research projects, a large number of projects are funded byexternal partners. Current research contracts, managed by a specific service, are worth more than 15 million euros.

At the international level

To develop its research at an international level, INSA Toulouse funds researchers’ mobility (in-comingand out-going). Alongside the members of the INSA Group, INSA Toulouse has developed educational engineering partnerships with Morocco. It is also developing research partnerships with China through the co-direction of PhD studies, funding PhD student mobility, scholarships… Similar partnerships had been developed with Hanoiwithin the University of Toulouse.
