Programme (detailed contents):
Company management simulation module (SIMGEST) :
- Simulation of company management over 5 years (making decisions concerning production, finances, marketing, HR). Business Report in English (by team)
Economics module :
- Economic indicators and cycles
- Market economy, maladjustments and economic policies
- International exchanges
- Financing of the economy : currency and financial markets
English thematic module :
- students will choose between the various themes proposed
Simulation module : introductory tutorials and simulation sessions (20h). Training for the oral presentation in English (5h). Oral business report (2h)
Economics module : study of various topics through classes and debates (15h) ; use of current economic documents, multimedia resources, synthesis of documents on each of the topics studied. Dossier to be studied before the course.
English thematic module : guided activities proposed by teacher on the theme, group project work under tutor's guidance and project presentations (20h - tutorials)
Second language course :
One weekly 2.5h course over 10 weeks -25h
Main difficulties for students:
Giving a presentation in English (using business vocabulary provided)


At the end of this module, the student will have understood and be able to explain (main concepts):
the interdependence of the functions of the company through decision making and results analysis
elements of economic culture which clarify the decision-making of an engineer
realities of the English-speaking world and its evolution through a cultural, historical and socio-economic approach
The student will be able to:
conduct research
analyse documents
set up and organise a group project
give an oral presentation of a documentary synthesis and a business report
create basic management tools
optimise resources to make the company profitable
take ethical concerns into account
appreciate the impact of the major parameters of the socio-economic and financial environment on a company
identify key factors in the social and ethical dimension of engineering
Second language course (optional – commitment for years 3 and 4)
The objectives are defined according to European specifications for the five language skills and specific to the various languages proposed - German, Spanish, and Chinese – and to students' levels.
Whenever his/her level is sufficient, the student will be able to:
synthesise and present professional documents
give an oral presentation in front of a group
take into account the various dimensions of interculturality
analyse a job ad
simulate a job interview
write a CV and a cover letter
Remedial English (upon teachers’ decision)
In some specific cases, a remedial English course is offred in replacement of the second language course with the objective of reinforcing the language skills useful for the TOEIC, i.e reading and listening grammar and vocabulary

Needed prerequisite

Management Notions of I2CCGE31 = income statement, cash position, balance sheet, costs, break even point.
Level : B2 in English(intermediate)
LV2 : A2 min. in the studied language – Course not open to exchange students

Form of assessment

The evaluation of outcome prior learning is made as a continuous training during the semester. According ot the teaching, the assessment will be different: as a written exam, an oral exam, a record, a written report, peers review...
