State of the art, fundamental research

INSA Toulouse, in accordance with the policy of all the Toulouse establishments and in particular with the Excellence Initiative project, is engaged in the followiing federating themes :

  •  Nano and Multifunctional Materials for Machines and Structures
  •  Extreme Measurements, Non-Destructive Testing
  •  Microbial Systems, Biotechnologies, Water and Processes
  •  Energy Conversion and Optimised Energy Management
  •  Modelling, Simulation and Statistics for Physics, Engineering and Biology
  •  Cyber-Physical Systems, Micro-NanoSystems for Health, Aeronautics and Space

Opting for research

INSA Toulouse’s education is closely linked to top level research in order to develop its engineering students’ ability to imagine and develop the technologies of the future.

For this, INSA is strongly involved in the research policy of the “Université of Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées” and

- has laboratories linked to each engineering department

- has academics and researchers carrying out dynamic research in internationally recognized laboratories (CNRS, INRA, MESR)

- provides training for research for all its engineering students throughout the five years of their course.

In addition to training engineering students “for and through” research, INSA participates actively in Research Master courses open to INSA students and to students from outside who are interested in research and may go on to do a PhD. INSA is present in seven doctoral schools of the “Université de Toulouse” and awards around 60 PhDs each year.
