The psycho-social
health center

The Psycho-social Health Center provides a wide range of services to students in the fields of health and nursing, psychological support and social assistance.
Its staff members work as a team to ensure that students receive comprehensive care or specific support while upholding professional confidentiality.
Assistance to students is provided in collaboration with the teaching staff and–if necessary–with other health, psychological and social professionals from the public or private sectors.

DISABILITY CENTER

As part of the Student and University Life department, the INSA Toulouse Disability Center is the welcome point for all students with temporary or permanent disabilities, students with health problems (illnesses that have a long-term impact on their studies) or learning difficulties (such as “dys” disorders).

NURSING

The nurse provides nursing treatment and monitoring for students, as well as health examinations for 1st-year students. She receives, listens to and advises students who contact her regarding health problems.

Opening hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (by appointment only)

PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT

The psychologist provides individual, ad hoc sessions to those students who request them. If necessary, she refers students to other health care providers (SIMPPS, psychiatrists, or support services).
The Psychological Support Center is intended for students suffering from mental anguish and for whom the smooth running of their daily life and/or studies have been affected.

For example, this may include first-line treatment for:

  • angst, psychological distress, depression
  • anxiety
  • traumatic events (e.g. mourning the loss of a loved one)
  • addictions
  • pathologies (physiological or psychological) and disability-related situations

Appointments are temporarily suspended.

SOCIAL ASSISTANCE

The social service assistant provides students with the means to respond to the difficulties they may encounter:

  • Support, counseling, psycho-social assistance (for non-medical problems), implementation of stress management and sophrology techniques in the form of workshops and/or individual sessions.
  • Support and guidance through administrative procedures: information on the students’ various rights in terms of social welfare and social protection, help in finding housing, odd jobs, organizing their daily life, applying for RQTH, etc.
  • Evaluation of social conditions and implementation of aid schemes for specific needs.
