RESEARCH DESIGNED TO TACKLE SOCIETAL ISSUES

Our scientific policy is defined by the Scientific Council and implemented by the Research Department.

One of the hallmarks of our scientific potential is its disciplinary diversity, covering a wide range of fields in the image of our specialized degrees.

Structuring our research into five societal issues reflects our ambition to address the needs of society through scientific contributions.

At the heart of our growth lie shared perspectives with the humanities and social sciences, cross-disciplinary approaches, and research that genuinely connects with the public.

As a founding member of the University of Toulouse, our institution is deeply involved in the TIRIS research programs, which have prioritized hosting young international researchers and local funding for interdisciplinary research programs in 2023.

INSA Toulouse aims to develop impactful research that addresses societal issues and engages in key challenges at the regional level: quantum technologies, smart and sustainable mobility, circular economy, cybersecurity, and water.

Furthermore, the INSA Group has mapped the scientific potential of the various INSAs in terms of the societal issues and underlying scientific questions they address. This powerful tool for partnership research and technological sponsorship with social impact—known as the Alliance scheme—works in conjunction with various NGOs.

In line with national and regional strategies and INSA’s foundational principles based on academic excellence, the research conducted at INSA combines fundamental and applied work.
