Search, analyze and present information

Objectifs

The training in literature search is a part of the Humanities domain of the first years¿.
The « documentary project » is the practical exercice and the support of this training : the freshmen are divided in groups of 5 to 6 members in order to work on a project given by a professor, who then become their tutor. The students have to produce a written summary of their research along with a bibliography, and they have to make an oral presentation in front of a jury.

Initiating the freshmen to research and information treatment on a professional level.
Increasing the students autonomy and as well as their level of knowledge of scientific and technical information.
Giving the students a new set of skills for them to be able to elaborate an efficient research strategy.
Improving the students knowledge about all the documentary tools at their disposal.
Introducing the students to the rules of bibliography writing and on how to use other people¿s research work.

Pré-requis

The freshmen also have to train themselves through a independant learning path on Moodle, before the literature search course.

Évaluation

L’évaluation des acquis d’apprentissage est réalisée en continu tout le long du semestre. En fonction des enseignements, elle peut prendre différentes formes : examen écrit, oral, compte-rendu, rapport écrit, évaluation par les pairs…
